Position Details/Job Description:
- The Tender Coordinator will report to the Marketing Director.
- The primary function of this role is the on-time management of the tender process from receipt of enquiry to issuing of tender.
- The collation of the required information from the engineering, financial and marketing departments, forming part of a specific tender document, will be the Tender Coordinators key result area.
- The Tender Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that tenders are of a high standard and that areas such as grammar, spelling, quality and aesthetic appearance are of a high quality.
- The Tender Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that tender documents submitted comply with all the specific tender and legal requirements.
- An existing information flow and pricing database system is operational. The Tender Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance, management and improvement of this system with particular focus on improving the feedback and formalization of market intelligence.
- The Tender Coordinator will have to provide monthly feedback on tender submissions and the status of the respective projects.
- All unsuccessful tenders will have to be evaluated to establish reasoning for not been successful.
- The Tender Coordinator will be responsible for the updating and evaluation of equipment pricing trends.

Qualifications, Desired Skills and Experience:
- The Tender Coordinator should have the following skills or aptitude:
- A formal tertiary qualification would be preferable but not essential. A Bachelors Degree or equivalent Diploma will be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience is required, preferably with previous exposure to tendering.
- The candidate must be able to and willing to work under pressure when required.
- An advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.
- It is essential to possess good interpersonal and management skills as interaction with all operating sections is essential.
- Will be required to be a self-motivated / a self-starter as this role is not discreetly overseen.
- Will be required to have a technical aptitude, preferably in the mining or engineering industries.
- Will be required to understand and identify commercial and contractual risks associated with the compilation of tender documents.
- This role dictates that the candidate is a detail-oriented person as accuracy and precision of the required outputs are key result areas.
- Will be required to possess good time management skills as the meeting of deadlines is an imperative key result area.
- Will be required to learn about the organisation’s market and successfully interact with key individuals.
- Will be required to have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
