The successful applicant will be responsible for the following: Reservoir/Petroleum delivery to support the business objective; integral member of the subsurface team working closely with other disciplines and playing a key role in the development and production activity; responsible for formulating the engineering elements of the Filed Development Plans, with specific responsibility for reservoir management, reserve estimation and reporting as well as production forecasting etc.
Position Details/Job Description:
- Provide Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering skills to support the development and production activity. These skills will include classic analytical techniques (e.g. material balance, decline curve analysis, formation evaluation, production forecasting etc.) as well as numerical modelling as appropriate.
- Provide well performance analysis and ability to develop engineering models to predict performance and optimise production using such techniques as artificial lift/simulation models etc.
- To identify and quantify key subsurface risks and uncertainties, to quantify these, run appropriate sensitivities and make sound engineering recommendations to manage the risk/uncertainty.
- To conduct economic/commercial evaluations of development options including appropriate risk analysis.
- To ensure the timely and accurate assessment and reporting of the Companies net reserve/resource entitlements.
- To liaise and work closely with the other disciplines (Drilling, Land & Planning, Production etc) to ensure an integrated cost-effective Field Development Plan is adopted and executed.
- To establish, maintain and develop suitable technical standards and processes in support of the functional capability.
- To ensure a rigorous and consistent engineering approach to evaluating and progressing opportunities from discovery to production. To include the input into the annual Capital/Expense budgets, FDP’s, reserve estimates, production forecasts etc.

Qualifications, Desired Skills and Experience:
- A degree in an appropriate discipline;
- A minimum of 7 years RE/PE experience, preferably with some well-site/operational experience;
- Ideally, previous CBM /unconventional reservoir experience would be an advantage, but not essential;
- Broad engineering skills, emphasis on classical analytical techniques, some modelling experience would be beneficial;
- Possess the ability to assume a leadership role;
- Be able to conduct technical and economic evaluations;
- Familiarity with the reserves evaluation process an advantage;
- Ability to identify, develop and introduce technical innovation to enhance business delivery;
- Exhibit business and commercial awareness;
- Personal Effectiveness/team player/good communication skills;
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
