About Us
Our Work Ethic
- We are a Team of committed individuals and successful Entrepreneurs linked by a common Vision, a Mission and a commitment to the upliftment of Africa and all its people.
- Many of us are XL Life Members and thereby deeply committed to creating wealth in our communities and to leaving a legacy for future generations.
- We are already pursuing this mission to reverse the environmental degradation and ecological destruction of our environment by educating people and building communities around sustainable and practical models for social enterprise.
- Our focus is on fostering the growth of marginalised communities by delivering a practical model for these communities to structure themselves which provides sustainable livelihoods in complete harmony with the environment.
- Our business achieves its objectives by a structured approach to each project as follows:
- Identifying a Community that could benefit from our Sustainable Village Model.
- Drafting a project that delivers the priority needs of the community by matching this to the resources and objectives of the commercial enterprise in the vicinity.
- Defining the scope and limits of the project, its deliverables, time-scales and the budget for the implementation of this project.
- Communicating this project to the community and to the commercial partner and negotiating a buy-in from all stakeholders.
- Pinpointing the individuals who will drive the project and appointing them as project champions.
Our Team
Caryn Darley - Master Champion
Caryn Darley, was born in Gauteng. She loves the rat race, is a highly focused work-a holic of note. Caryn says that she never works a day in her life, because she is so passionate about what she does. Her career began in the hospitality industry which is where she learnt all about service excellence. She developed her passion for engineering, leadership and people when she joined DAV Professional Placement Group. (The leading recruitment company in South Africa, and proud winners of the best company to work for award in 2006.)
Her engineering knowledge and experience in leadership developed in her the role as consultant, team leader and then Director for Engineering in recruitment, investing 10 years in headhunting, interviewing and placing the top engineers/technical staff with leading companies.
This is where she believes that her purpose began to reduce the leadership and engineering/technical gap in South Africa and to make a difference in industry. For many leaders, their vision begins as an idea, without much detail or clarity. As time passes, the idea crystalises into a kernel of interest, and soon becomes an irreversible passion. It takes shape and forms inside of their minds and hearts. In many ways the birth of a VISION is much likened to the birth of a CHILD!
